Its first two clearances are markets #1 and #2, with sponsoring WABC, New York (770) and KABC, Los Angeles (790). The new 1-5am Eastern time show is a partnership between WABC and Citadel Media. WABC PD Laurie Cantillo describes McIntyre as “a refreshing live alternative to traditional overnight fare”, surveying breaking news, current events and pop culture. Former KABC morning man McIntyre used to do “Red Eye Radio” in some overnights and has recently been airing just before Don Imus on WABC. and now it’s going syndicated. The show will be produced from the KABC studios live for New York, 10pm-2am Pacific time, and then airing taped on KABC from midnight-3am. The syndicator says there are “more major market stations being added immediately.”
